Addax Petroleum Corporation, together with its partners Chrome Oil Services Limited (Chrome) and Korea Gas Corporation (KOGAS), has received the approval from the Federal Government of Nigeria, for its proposed implementation of an integrated gas utilization project in Nigeria. Addax Petroleum has also entered into a heads of agreement with Chrome, a leading Nigerian oil and gas company, and KOGAS, South Korea's national gas company, forming an international consortium which, upon finalization of the necessary project development agreements, will take responsibility for the development of this integrated gas utilization project in response to the Nigerian Government's current gas marketing master plan. |

Addax Petroleum Corporation meldet heute den Abschluss einer zweijährigen vorrangigen unbesicherten revolvierenden Kreditfazilität in Höhe von 500 Mio. USD, die von Calyon, Standard Chartered Bank und BNP Paribas arrangiert wurde. Der Kreditrahmen wurde im zweiten Quartal 2008 auf einen ursprünglichen Betrag von 450 Mio. USD angesetzt und aufgrund der Überzeichnung durch teilnehmende Finanzinstitutionen während des Syndizierungsprozesses auf 500 Mio. USD erhöht. |

Six days after Tulsa, Okla.-based Semgroup's Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing, details of its wrong-way oil trades remain in short supply. Neither the company nor its creditors are talking. Saturday, in his first public statement since the bankruptcy, former Chief Executive Thomas Kivisto said he wanted to reassure Semgroup's 2,000 employees; but he gave them no reasons to feel hopeful. With the Securities & Exchange Commission investigating, a class-action suit in the works and a grand jury demanding trading records, the truth will soon emerge. And it won't be pretty. |

OIL and gas producer Santos has announced potential coal-seam methane resources in NSW to rival Australia's biggest offshore find and says it is considering exporting them as liquefied natural gas. Santos, whose shares have been running hot after it secured an unexpectedly high price last week for Queensland CSM reserves from Malaysia's Petronas, said yesterday it had 40 trillion cubic feet of potential resources at its Gunnedah Basin, near the town of the same name. |
